July has been an unpredictable and challenging month but I have found some time to work on my new video. I spent a couple of days on the coast with my camera mid-month, and then returned for some pick-up shots a week later. Very lucky with the weather each time, and it was great to get down there early before the beach got crowded. There’s a feeling of freedom and happiness filming by the sea when the shore is unpopulated, it’s so easy to lose track of time. I think one more visit will complete the audio and video content, and I hope the video will be finished by early autumn.
I was shortlisted for the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair this month with a Giclee print about climate change, but unfortunately didn’t make the final selection. It was my first attempt as I had heard so many positive stories about the fair from friends who exhibited. The work will be included in an online gallery in August, called the Director’s Cut.
