Finalist, ArtEvol 2025

September 2025

September 21, 2025

Last month I found out I was a finalist for the ArtEvol 2025 exhibition, organised by the London Art Collective. The open call had received many applications, so it was lovely to have reached the final stage of the exhibition, which was held at the Saatchi Gallery in London in mid-September. There were 59 exhibitors in the show which included some striking video works and photography, alongside sculptures, paintings, drawings and mixed media.

Capture from video

I finished my short, experimental film, Becoming an Island, at the end of August. The film is about our relationship with nature during climate change. Filmed on the south coast, and scripted with a poetic, first-person narrative, the video looks at the connection between the self, illness, and the natural world. I wanted to produce something different to Chalk, and Vanishing, my last two projects, and this one has autobiographical elements, incorporates dance movement, and is more experimental in its narration. I have received some nice feedback and hope it may go out into the wider world at some point.

It is impossible to ignore the divisions and hate that are occurring globally, and in the UK. We are living in distressing and volatile times. Protests and donations are one way to feel less passive but I feel I need to respond to this through my photography as well, and this will be the focus for any new work, developing out of the existing Disrupted Landscapes project.
