From Before there was us (Before, there was us)

September 2026

October 4, 2026

A little late in writing this. The main news for September was that I finished my short film at the start of the month. It was a really important project for me to work on and I’m happy with the final 15-minute film. Hopefully it may get a public screening in the future.

Here and there

In the process of scanning and playing around with images for the short film, some hybrid shots of England and Canada came about. They're not in the film, but I quite like them. The feeling of being between two countries - here and there.

Also in September, I was shortlisted for two exhibitions with work from Disrupted Landscapes. I was part of the Director’s Cut with Imprint Art Fair and had work on sale throughout September, and I was shortlisted for the London Art Collective’s exhibition at Saatchi Gallery.

Finally, I was invited to spend 4 days in southern Portugal at the rural home of my oldest friend so I went out in the last week of September. Nature provided two audio-visual highlights of the visit with a shepherd steering his goats beside my friend’s garden, their bells ringing in the dusk, and in Silves the sound of storks chittering in their huge nests as the sun set.
