I was in Pembrokeshire for a couple of days in late June, coinciding with the intense summer heatwave. I visited Broad Haven South beach and the Bosherston Lily Ponds which were stunning and stayed in Freshwater East. Travelling by train and on foot was a little challenging in the heat. I’d like to return another time and see more of the Pembrokeshire coast.

I also visited Canada this month to see family and friends and revisit the city where I lived for almost 13 years. In spite of the sadness that precipitated the visit, there was a lot of joy reconnecting with everyone and experiencing the beauty of the Canadian landscape once again.
The Summer Contemporary at Snape Maltings, Suffolk, has opened and runs through August. I have a new photograph in the exhibition, which is installed across many exhibition spaces. The photograph was taken in Scotland this year and is a single image, not part of a series.
Much of June and July has been spent creating something new, which I feel is a necessary project for me at this time. I am enjoying working on it but I don’t know if it will have a public face. I imagine it will be completed in the autumn.
